SPED Disability Eligibility Standards Update

Below is a reprint from the TN DOE School Psychologists Update (5/25/2017):

The State Board of Education has approved the revised disability standards (i.e., the required evaluation procedures and evaluation participants). The changes will be effective on July 1, 2017. Guidance documents on evaluation procedures and trainings are forthcoming. For those unable to attend trainings in person, there will be a recorded webinar posted reviewing proposed changes.

PREPaRE: School Crisis and Intervention Training was a success!!

The PREPaRE: School Crisis and Intervention Training in Columbia was a success!! For three days in June, school psychologists gathered in Columbia to strengthen their skills in crisis prevention and response. The PREPaRE curriculum has been developed by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) as part of NASP's decade-long leadership in providing evidence-based resources and consultation related to school crisis prevention and response.
